Detailed Plan

Impact

What Does Success Look Like?

Having developed the Co-Creation of Community Events Website and having 30 people that have co-organized or participated in community events. (see section: Auditability/KPIs below)

Target group

Cardano/Catalyst-stakeholders as well as people that don’t yet know about the Cardano-community.

Why Is It Important & How does this proposal fit into this challenge?

This project is directly addressing the core issue of this challenge, namely that
“Community-driven projects like Catalyst need organized events to connect, discuss ideas, solve problems together and initiate collaboration.”

Having the event co-creation platform follows the principles of the Cardano Spirit of inclusiveness, transparency and community-drivenness.

How will this project add value to our ecosystem?

Having a go-to-place where anyone within and without the Cardano Network can suggest ideas for events that can be voted for and expanded on, fosters idea-generation, collaboration and the actual manifestation /holding of events.

Outlook and future challenges?

An iteration of the project could involve allowing people to vote with their wallets or use ADA to vote and/or to fund projects/ideas/events.

Objectives

A) Attracting new people to Cardano/Catalyst
B) Creating a simple way to bridge interaction between Cardano/Catalyst-stakeholders and everyone new to the community
C) Creating a framework that allows for fast and effective experimentation on how to create mechanisms for:
- how to best invite/incentivize people to suggest, vote on and give feedback on events and ideas
- creative idea-generation
- fair voting-mechanisms
- community consensus-models

Mechanism

Once sufficient traction of an event-idea is reached, events can either be self-organized or if funds are needed, can easily be identified by the Catalyst-community to be evaluated for receiving funding.

Feasibility

The team has experience in organizing, hosting and facilitating online and in-person events, creating event management software and creating event platforms and extensive experience in consensus decision making processes.

We have already created a working demo and prototype.

Collaboration

We already have collaborators from within the Catalyst-community from Indonesia, Australia and East-Africa that want to use the platform to co-create and organize events.

6 Months Roadmap

1. Month: Evaluating which part of the existing prototype demo.favourse.com can be used for “Cardano-Crowdsourced-Events” (Erik); designing and defining technical framework that allows for experimentation and bringing together of different elements of the platform, namely event/idea-generation/suggestion, voting, feedback and crowdsourcing.

In parallel: Creating a list of different Cardano/Catalyst-stakeholders and inviting them to pilot on our platform (Dewi, Simon). This activity will be ongoing and will develop and engage people from within and without the current Cardano-community. Dewi and Simon will also receive feedback from the community on how to improve this project and it’s mechanisms.

2. + 3. Month: Erik & Sadu (development), together with Iosi & Imad (UI and design), define and start development of the first version with core elements of suggesting, voting, trending-view and tag-search

4. Month: Launch of first version and opening up for registrations to users, asking already contacted prospects to register and start using the protype.

From now on: Continuing development, bug fixing, improvements. Continuing community engagement and reaching out.

5. Month: Have 1 event that was suggested, voted for and organized on the platform.

6. Month: Have 5 events that were suggested, voted for and organized on the platform and 1 event that is suggested to Cardano Catalyst or the Cardano-community that is requesting funding.
