Detailed Plan

Problem statement

Small towns all over the world are falling apart, suffering an irreversible fate of economic decay, with very few prospects for turning this around. Most of these towns were once thriving communities - now everything seems broken - especially in 3rd world countries. And yet there is so much potential, lying idle in every small town, that is neglected.

Solution

Our ONE SMALL TOWN plan, detailed in our website https://www.ubuntucontributionism.org/one-small-town, turns small towns into thriving places of abundance and prosperity for all its residents - by identifying all the agricultural and industrial opportunities, combining them with the many incredible people skills, creating a united labour force, and presenting a list of very attractive investment opportunities for conscious investors who want to partner with an entire community. Creating unprecedented long-term secure investments and a beautiful future for all involved.

Goal

The entire ecosystem of the One Small Town will operate on the blockchain. Every participant will have a smartcard and wallet account open and be teach how to use it as for all the others dApps of the ecosystem. In this challenge the funds will be used for the development of the smartcard.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

A smartcard will store all townspeople necessary information like skills and abilities, Labour Of Love accumulated, business share or knowledge. Connected to the blockchain, anyone could instantly prove his/her identity as contributing member. Even move to a different town and be recognize as an OST member.

The consensus contribution model will require a blockchain application for secure voting, ranking and approval of the businesses. Our smardcard will be necessary to vote for the town council.

The transparency of the blockchain will ensure accountability and effective time and resource management of the many projects.

The time bank of townspeople will be recorded on the blockchain for total transparency and give them access to the abundant resources that the town have produced.

One Small Town will have many skilled craft persons, trade persons, professionals, managers, artists, designers etc. who will earn and have a blockchain identity that confirms their unique skills. This identity travels with them if they change companies or go to another town.

The best way to learn is by teaching others. Townspeople who share their skills and knowledge by training or teaching others will earn valuable tokens that will be added to their wallet.

The time and skills taught as a teacher or student will be recorded on the blockchain with an easy access thanks to the smartcard.

The level of knowledge attained will be recorded on the blockchain and the individual will own this part of their identity, again the smartcard will be the mean of identity. This will ensure that no one will be asked to perform work they are not qualified for. Individuals can access all learning.

All the products and services created in the town are fully accessible to the townspeople who contribute their time. The blockchain will record in real time the products and services popularity and demand. This will ensure timely tracking of resources to best serve the desires and needs of the townspeople.

Townspeople can spend their tokens in a Marketplace on goods and services not produced by the OST business such as a piece of art or clothing. However, the tokens have a demurrage element that erodes its purchasing power over a pre planned time period. This helps with the multiplier effect of the local economy and stops any hoarding of the tokens.

Many other uses of the smartcard and the blockchain will arise and will require a robust ecosystem, especially for trading of goods and services with other One Small Towns or transparently disclosing all the ESG measures that are demanded for any of the OST businesses to be approved.

Userbase

We expect to have about 200,000 members in 12 months and possible 1 million or more in 24 months.

It could be many millions based on the current interest in ONE SMALL TOWN from mayor’s and Tribal leaders.

We expect the first USA town to join in the next 3 months which will create a domino effect.
