■Establishing a brand for local specialty products

By replacing the Ataraprism's national IDs with cattle IDs and operating them, we can establish a blockchain traceability solution from beef production to the dinner table and promote branding (Japan already has a cattle ID database to manage cattle traceability).

This is a situation that we are promoting in cooperation with the prefectural assembly members. We have already given a presentation on Cardano to more than 10 staff members of related departments in the prefectural government. After that, the prefectural assembly members plan to submit the proposal to the governor.

Once this project gets off the ground, it can be developed into a platform for attracting funds from outside the prefecture and overseas through hometown taxation and funds. The prefectural assembly members are very motivated to move forward with this project, which has led to the following actions and plans.

Visited the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Department of the prefectural government, which has jurisdiction over the livestock industry in the prefecture, and made a presentation. We introduced our cattle traceability solution and also asked about the issues that the government faces. Based on the content of this presentation, we will propose the solution to the Livestock Breeders' Association (business organization), which is the next step, and hold a hearing. After that, we will draw up specific solutions to solve the issues and link them to the verification experiment.

⇒As soon as we get the budget from the prefecture, we will switch from the demonstration experiment version to the full-scale implementation version.

・Road map
September 2021: Budget for FY2022 to be incorporated, marketing (pilot versionrequirements to be defined)
November 2021: Execution of funds, start of pilot version
April 2022: Start full version implementation

Rationale

Traceability of cattle and beef: Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (maff.go.jp)
<https://www.maff.go.jp/j/syouan/tikusui/trace/>

If we can build a blockchain infrastructure in the government with these use cases, we can then expand it to various dApps solutions within the government. This project is a very important milestone toward this goal and the biggest opportunity to achieve this.

■Current Issues

We need to build a consensus before we can get a budget from the government. In addition, it takes time to get the budget.Even if the project is successfully included in the next fiscal year's budget by September, it will not be eligible for execution in the next fiscal year's budget (from April 2022). In addition, it will take time to get the budget. We would like to proceed in the form of a demonstration experiment before that time, but due to financial problems, we participated in this Fund6.

■KPI

・Define design requirements for social use of ATALAPrism in Japan (developed country)
for the demonstration experiment.

・Through the demonstration experiments, we will define the requirements for specific
solution design led by the government.

■Deliverables (Progress)

Establishment of a strong and powerful relationship with the members of the prefectural assembly. An opinion exchange meeting was held at the prefectural government office with about 10 people in charge of related departments. We have already provided input on the necessity and usefulness of the prefecture's approach to the block chain.

■Budget request

$10,000

■Breakdown

The work period is expected to be about three months and 40 hours.
Labor cost (per hour) in Japan with skills above a certain level is about $30.
Labor cost (for four people): $4,800
PoC $5,000
To the prefectural government Transportation cost $200

Total $10,000

This time, we are targeting the PoC stage, and we would like to make another proposal on Fund7 for further development of the pilot version and any missing funds.

Monthly Reports

Most recently, we have proposed the use of blockchain for smart cities to the governing body and a major developer (Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. ), which is the lead organization. We have also been joined by a prefectural assembly member and Mr. Miyatake of IOG, who have been cooperating with us for some time. The main scope of this proposal is lobbying, and the project will continue over the medium to long term. Therefore, the proposal itself will be closed once. We will continue our activities and would be grateful for your continued support.
