[IMPACT]

The decentralization of the electrical grid and the need to secure and automate the exchanges of electricity between customers who want to get energy (for their houses, their cars, their business) and those who produce it, creates the need of a token to secure this exchange and to make the transaction quick and relevant. This token will be used to exchange these payments and it will only be possible to make this exchange with this token. In the long term, the introduction of a fee in the payment exchange between electricity provider and electricity user will also be paid in this token.

The complexity of the electrical grid infrastructure still has not found a way to keep it stable, since it cannot know when power will be generated by producers will put in energy on the grid, and when the consumers will take it off the grid. If there is not enough energy, the system is unstable and an electrical breakdown could leave everybody without electricity. That’s why a complex system of management is put in place, bringing up layers and layers of re-sellers, commissioners and regulators who don’t bring any value to the product, which is basic electricity. Because there is not a way to pay directly between the generator and the consumer, the middle men take almost all the profit from the consumer, leaving small producers with low income. This discourages small producers of electrical clean energy to start up their business and allows the renewable clean transition. Finding a solution to this problem is key for customers to pay for accessible price, while the generators can get a fair income for their energy production.

During the next years, we will experience a massive energetic transition into the use of green power, mainly into the electrical market. The increase in demand will open business opportunities to different stakeholders, which will be in need of energy exchanges without having big corporate structures. The exchange of electricity will then rise by a constant 8 to 15% until 2030, when the market will finally stabilise. Therefore, we can assume the token will be highly in demand by a double digit growth during the following years.

In 2020, retail sales of electricity just in the United States generated a revenue of 390.7 billion U.S. dollars) . As well, due to the transition to green energies, other energy sectors based on gas or oil will switch to consume electricity, according to Deloitte

This will create a worldwide increase in the consumption and generation of electricity, highly increasing their demand. Those will be translated into a boom in new business and services which will be needed for electricity exchanges in a secure way.

The main challenge also will be to assess the exchange of the energy keeping the stability of the network afloat, but also allowing the exchange of energy between the small producer and the small consumer allowing direct payments in utilities between them. On the other hand, we have the risk of legislation, if cryptocurrency is banned or is in danger, the system will fall after it.

[FEASIBILITY]

Considering the W, the week of starting the project (w+ number, in number of weeks) :

  • W+1 : Start of the development of the exchange platform
  • W+2: In parallel, make a PPA contract with energy generators to have a minimum of energy for selling at the start of the pool, with good conditions
  • W+5: Opening of pilot Power Plant, for test and automatisation of payments
  • W+20: Beta phase of the energy exchange platform
  • W+24: Opening Platform to external users who want to consume energy and pay utilities with tokens based in Cardano
  • W+35: Beta phase for the energy exchange platform for producers
  • W+40: Opening the platform for all producers
  • W+41: Officially paying or getting paid the green electrical bills with the currency, electricity that will not be accepted to be paid with other coins or currencies.

First team director, was trained technically at the Bilbao School of Engineering. He soon realized that his vocation was going to be closer to the people. For this reason, he moved to Barcelona (2010), where he studied product design, specializing in materials and production processes aimed at eco-design. At the same time, he contributed to the emergence of the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, focusing on social added value, as a result of which he created the startup The Social Coin (currently Citibeats), an award-winning project of countless national and international awards. Shortly afterwards it was integrated as Ashoka’s ChangeMaker and other platforms to boost social innovation. During his stay in Barcelona, in addition to being awarded in prestigious design competitions, he created “Kramade” for a project to promote high value-added products among creative people using Smart City projects as a solution. Faced with the need to grow professionally, he moved to Berlin for a few years. This international experience has given him an enriched global perspective with a social and entrepreneurial ecosystem of great weight in the world.

Second team energy manager, after setting up his first computer at the age of 8, he could not stop making tons of electronic devices until the age of 18, when he received a scholarship to study Electrical and Electronics Engineering at INSA Lyon, a prestigious French institution. of Engineering. Years of making electronic junk and rockets, he won the 2006 CNES Awards for the Anaïs rocket and the 2007 GIFAS Award for the Iness rocket, which led him to work for the French Space Agency (CNES).Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and France are among many other places where he has developed his technical projects in the fields of electronics, satellites, robots, telecommunications, automation and industrial computing. Finally, he returned to Barcelona to develop the machines and devices of the future, to create new business models and to create technological startups. To overcome the challenges of the 21st century, he believes that technology is the solution to solving the multiple emergencies that plague the planet. Among many, one of his passions is to develop technology to make cities smarter and to help solve the climate emergency.

[AUDITABILITY]

We will measure the progress of the project with the quantity of energy exchanged and paid with TorEnergy based in Cardano. The first KPI will be the quantity of energy produced and tried to sell in the exchange, and the second one, the quantity of energy bought and consumed with our system.

Success looks like people can pay their utility bills with Tors based in Cardano, and the electricity producers are paid with them. Briefly, that it would be the official coin of the electricity exchanges between normal people, without the middleman.

This is an entirely new project.
