Solution

We would like to install and maintain wifi in Paraguayan rural schools. This will allow students to connect to our community earlier on

Problem:

Wifi is far from universally available in rural Paraguay. Without wifi, ADA could never be implemented or introduced in much of the nation.

[IMPACT]

We plan to install and maintain wifi services in three rural school districts in the Cordillera region of Paraguay. Using the necessary funds we would plan out and execute this installation in multiple elementary schools and a high schools using ISPs like Tigo/Personal/Claro. Additionally, computers will be provided to these schools so students and staff can make proper use of it.

The Cardano blockchain has the ability and intent to provide a decentralized banking infrastructure that stands to benefit the currently unbanked regions of the world the most. As revolutionary as this technology is, it remains irrelevant in areas that lack access to the internet. By providing internet access to students at a younger age we create a pathway for the next generation to become more involved with the rest of the world, their education and blockchain technology, and integrated into our community as well.

The primary challenge we foresee is the lack of infrastructure in the region making it difficult to carry out our plans. Fortunately, we have extensive connections in both the ISP industry as well as the electric industry in the area. As a result, problems of this sort will be solved by our ability to get the right people together to ensure things run as smoothly and efficiently as can be.

[FEASIBILITY]

DeFi Discussions is currently launching a project in Cuenca, Ecuador. This project will take us to Paraguay in May. Hereafter we will make immediate headway into organizing next steps for bringing internet to the local schools. Over the course of the next four months we will negotiate with the aforementioned ISPs, see that internet is successfully installed and maintained, and organize the shipment and delivery of computers for these schools. By September the project will be successfully concluded.

50 a month per school x 6 schools x 12 months = 3600 (for one year)

150 per computer x 20 computers = 9000

infrastructure issues = 15000

travel = 3000

total: 30600
