Team

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

To facilitate the pace of Blockchain utilization, there is the need to obtain access in the institutions of higher learning. C. K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences is one of the Public Universities in Ghana whose core mandate is on Science and Technology. Thus, establishing a Cardano hub in such higher institution will enable easy facilitation of Blockchain utilization in the Northern part of the country and beyond.

This project seeks to create a Cardano Hub in C. K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS) located in the Upper East Region of Ghana and to bid for University Relations through the appropriate Authorities. After an exposure to the Cardano ecosystem by Jeremiah Baani a member of the WADA team, it has become very important to have a center for continuous education on the ecosystem. This center will become a center for Cardano evangelism on the campus, a place for hackathons and center for research. Being a technology focused University; this center will help nurture developers (developer evangelism) among others.

[IMPACT] Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

Goals of the Project

  1. To create a center for blockchain education on Campus.
  2. To establish a relationship between Cardano and CKT-UTAS.
  3. The center will facilitate developer training in the University.
  4. The center will seek to organize hackathons for students.
  5. The center will be a place for research.
  6. The centre will develop materials for training and learning through their research
  7. The center will seek to create and manage different groups of Cardano funds among students (developer evangelist, educators, content creators, online communities and so on).

[IMPACT] What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

Not sure of any risk

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

[FEASIBILITY] If you are funded, will you return to Catalyst in a later round for further funding? Please explain why / why not.

Yes,

this project seeks to establish a hub that will train students and faculty members issues on blockchain. the will be the need to return to seek funding for different activities that will make the hub relevant

[AUDITABILITY] Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

Expected Outcome of the Project

  1. The first center for blockchain education in a higher institution in Ghana with emphasis on Cardano Ecosystem.
  2. A center where different category of Cardano fans will birth (educators, developer evangelist, online community advocates, content creators and so on).
  3. A center that interested developers can practice.
  4. A center where campus hackathons can be organised.
  5. Cardano team visiting the campus to share their knowledge or expertise with the students.

[AUDITABILITY] What does success for this project look like?

UNIQUE BENEFITS TO CARDANO ECOSYSTEM:

  • Number of university students who have been exposed and onboarded unto the Cardano community.

  • Number of students educated about blockchain, Cardano ecosystem and its benefits.

  • Number of student developers who begin to learn on how to build on Cardano blockchain.

  • Number of students and lecturers who begin to take up research works in areas of blockchain and Cardano ecosystem.

  • A stepping stone to other Universities.

[AUDITABILITY] Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

it is entirely new
