Solution
Our solution is to create a community with one purpose: to provide and exchange information about Catalyst based on Facebook's main platform for Vietnamese students.
Problem
In Vietnam, the tendency of students to learn about blockchain and cryptocurrencies is increasing. However, Cardano generally and Catalyst, in particular, are still new and unknown to many students.

[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

We clearly define, that our target audience is students - young, knowledgeable, and interested in learning about technology and blockchain.

We will be creating a group on Facebook to build our community, the information provided in the group will revolve around Catalyst:

  • Steps to become Proposal Assessor (PA), veteran Proposal Assessor (vPA).
  • How to write and submit proposals to Catalyst.
  • Sharing knowledge about Cardano.

Besides, to promote the Facebook group, we will create a Fanpage and open accounts on other social networks with many users in Vietnam such as Youtube, Instagram, Tiktok, etc. Catalyst content is intended to engage social media users in the community. In addition, we will create a website containing information about Catalyst that we have aggregated and distilled so that community members can approach Catalyst faster.

To attract students to join the group, we have the following rewards (for the first 30 people):

  • Each group member who successfully creates an account on https://cardano.ideascale.com/ and becomes PA will receive $3. (1)
  • Successfully referring another person who completes a task (1) will receive $2.

Organize 2 contests: PA writing contest, and project writing contest (only for members who have joined the Group, 20 fastest submissions for each contest). The award structure is as follows:

  • PA writing contest:

+ 1 first prize worth: $70

+ 1 second prize: $50

+ 1 third prize worth: $30

+ 5 consolation prizes: $15/ 1 prize

  • Project writing contest:

+ 1 first prize: $150

+ 1 second prize worth: $120

+ 1 third prize: $90

+ 5 consolation prizes worth: $50/ 1 prize

  • All evaluation criteria are our own based on our personal experience and reference to Catalyst.

  • Judging participants include our team and advisors experienced in proposal writing and proposal evaluation (we will provide their information in the referrer details section).

In addition, we will organize online meetings to share the experiences we gained from working on Catalyst (writing PA, writing a proposal).

More than that, we will try to get more rewards from being PA and proposers in coming Funds as an example to the members of the Group.

[IMPACT] Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

We focus on raising awareness of the Cardano and Catalyst blockchain for students from a student perspective. This approach will lead to the diversification of members participating in the Cardano network, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Cardano ecosystem.

Vietnam is a country in the Eastern half of Asia. So this proposal is suitable for the challenge. Growing Catalyst to growing the Cardano community in East Asia. The Vietnamese students are approximately 2.2 million.

The goal of the challenge is Grow East Asia, Grow Cardano. We create a community to develop Catalyst in University, from which to develop Cardano, so we do believe our proposal is fit a challenging setting.

[IMPACT] What are the main risks that could prevent you from delivering the project successfully and please explain how you will mitigate each risk?

  1. In Advertising on social networking sites like this, there may be people who are not students but still participate in the community. However, this could be a good point when it comes to attracting more members to the Cardano community.
  2. Fluctuating ADA market prices cause a shortage of funds to reward participants. We ask for an extra $300 for this issue.
  3. Failing to achieve the number of team members as set out goals. We had a clear promotion path: Starting from our University and then moving to other Universities around the area, with the support of teachers, and team members we believe we can do it.
  4. Limited experience of individuals in the group. Because we are students, we do not have much experience. However, we are having great support from experienced Project Catalyst advisors. We often consult them when there is any difficulty.

[FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed plan, including timeline and key milestones for delivering your proposal.

Our goal is for the community to get at least 30 members when the project is completed in five months.

[AUDITABILITY] Please describe what you will measure to track your project's progress, and how will you measure these?

  • Project progress is determined through the number of community members on the Facebook Group, and the number of posts.

  • The number of entries submitted.

  • Number of online meetings, number of participants in those online meetings.

  • Number of followers, views on relevant social media sites, number of page visitors web.

  • Every month, we will update detailed reports on costs used, community members, and percentage completed on the above Github link and Website.

[AUDITABILITY] What does success for this project look like?

  • The minimum number of members in the Facebook Group is 30 people, and the minimum number of posts is 30.

  • There is a minimum of 20 entries per contest (Project writing contest and PA Contest).

  • 3 online meetings in the last 3 months of the proposal and each meeting has a minimum of 15 participants.

  • 100 followers on Tiktok, Instagram, and Youtube. 300 views on Youtube and Tiktok. 120 Website visits.

  • Vietnamese students will understand more about Catalyst and the Cardano blockchain, and there will be hundreds of students becoming PAs, vPAs, and proposers. The Catalyst Student Community will be a trusted place for students to turn to when they need help.

  • This will be a typical model that will be replicated in other universities in Vietnam.

  • There is a strong community that can continue to expand in the next Fund.

[AUDITABILITY] Please provide information on whether this proposal is a continuation of a previously funded project in Catalyst or an entirely new one.

This is a new proposal.
