-The research papers published by IOG are papers that have been in-depth researched and have undergone a peer-reviewed process. Many developers and members of the Cardano Vietnam community have a need to learn these research papers.
- The Cardano community in Vietnam is huge. However, the research papers are in-depth in English and there are many specialized terms, which are huge barriers for the community. The Cardano community in Vietnam has difficulty accessing Blockchain and Cardano documents in English.
- We are a team with expertise and experience in translation. From fund 7, we have translated videos on the youtube channel Charles Hoskinson, Input Output, and Cardano Foundation which are well received by the Vietnamese Cardano community.
- As of July 12, 2023, there are 183 research papers published at <https://iohk.io/en/research/library/>. We will translate all of these research papers into Vietnamese.
- After we translate these research papers into Vietnamese, they will be reviewed and posted on the cardano.vn website.
- Our solution will help developers and the Cardano Vietnam community have one more official source of information. We will build a lasting knowledge library for the community. This is an important solution because, in Vietnam, there is no team to translate these research papers into Vietnamese, the language is still a big barrier for those who want to learn more about Cardano. We believe this solution will help the current and future Cardano community, especially Vietnamese developers. This will help the Cardano community in Vietnam grow stronger and better.
[IMPACT] How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?
-For the “Development & Infrastructure” Challenge, we will solve the “Technical Resources & Documentation” section. We will create a knowledge library of technical documents for developers and members of the Cardano Vietnam community.
- When these research papers are translated into Vietnamese, they will make it easier for the Cardano Vietnamese community to learn knowledge. These research papers translated into Vietnamese will be especially useful for Vietnamese developers.
- Our proposal will help the Cardano Vietnamese community access official knowledge easily. This knowledge will create positive impacts for Vietnamese developers. For example, when reading research papers that we put on the cardano.vn website, Vietnamese developers better understand Hydra, Proof of Useful Work, and Ouroboros Leios. By learning the official knowledge, Vietnamese developers will clearly understand the superiority of Cardano compared to other platforms.
- These background documents will be the basis for the community to understand the technical background of Cardano. It is also a solid basis for Vietnamese developers to promote their capabilities to contribute products to the development of the Cardano ecosystem.

-We measure the success of the project here: https://bit.ly/IOG_research_paper. When accessing this link, people will know how many research papers are being translated? How many research papers are waiting for translation? And how many research papers have been completed?
- After the research papers are translated into Vietnamese, they will be reviewed and posted on the cardano.vn website.
- Some indicators to measure the success of the project are:
1. Number of access to research papers. We will measure through the Google Analytics tool. Our goal is:
- After the end of Milestone 1, there are 100 visits to research papers.
- After the end of Milestone 2, there are 200 visits to research papers.
- After the end of Milestone 3, there are 300 visits to research papers.
- After the end of Milestone 4, there are 400 visits to research papers.
2. Number of downloads of research papers. We will measure through the Google Analytics tool. Our goal is:
- After the end of Milestone 1, there are 50 downloads of research papers.
- After the end of Milestone 2, there are 100 downloads of research papers.
- After the end of Milestone 3, there are 150 downloads of research papers.
- After the end of Milestone 4, there are 200 downloads of research papers.
- If we achieve the above indicators, it proves that our project has brought many benefits to the Cardano Vietnam community. For developers, they can leverage this knowledge to build their projects.
- This is the foundation document of the Cardano ecosystem, so after we complete this project, our output will still be valuable in the future for those who want to learn about the Cardano Blockchain, especially developers in Vietnam.
[IMPACT] Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?
-We will share the output of the project on the cardano.vn website. This is a website where you can learn a lot of information about Cardano. We will create a knowledge library of technical documents for developers and members of the Cardano Vietnam community.
- In addition, we will also share the output of the project to 2 Telegram groups (StakingADA-Fimi and Fimi - Development Team). We have built 2 groups for developers and members of the Cardano Vietnam community to discuss information about the Cardano ecosystem.
- After completing this project, we plan to diversify forms of communication for output products, such as Podcasts or video lectures, or Livestream sessions.
[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What is your capability to deliver your project with high levels of trust and accountability?
-We have been translating Videos on youtube channels: Charles Hoskinson, Input Output, and Cardano Foundation for over one year. Here are some Videos made by us completely free to send to the Cardano Vietnam community: Okonomiyaki, The Launchpad for Web3 Projects, Cardano Foundation Strategy - Core Focus Areas.
- We participated in the "Reward for Community Translators" project funded in Fund 7, this project has been completed (this is our completed report video), but we continue to work and create quality products to send to the Cardano Vietnam community. This shows that we are very reliable and responsible, and we are fully qualified to complete the project "IOG's Research Paper for Vietnamese Developer".
- We have experience in project money management as we completed a funded project in Fund 7. After receiving the funding, our money management steps are as follows:
+ Project manager will manage the funding amount.
+ Translators select research papers to translate. After this research paper is translated, the reviewer will review it and post it on the cardano.vn website.
+ Next, in this link, the research paper is transferred to the “Done & Unpaid” sheet for monitoring.
+ Project manager will summarize the data and pay rewards to translators and reviewers within the first 5 days of the next month, for example, the reward of translators and reviewers in September will be paid within 5 days first of October.
- We have foreseen some risks and have the following mitigation solutions:
+ Risk 1: In research papers, there are specialized terms that can create confusion for readers.
Our solution: Our project team are people with a lot of experience in Blockchain research, they will take on the role of reviewing translations before sending them to the community.
+ Risk 2: In-depth research papers will have few people interested.
Our solution: In addition to uploading the product to the cardano.vn website, we will send the product to 2 Telegram groups (StakingADA-Fimi và Fimi - Development Team). We have built 2 groups for developers and members of the Vietnamese Cardano community to discuss information about the Cardano ecosystem.
[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] What are the main goals for the project and how will you validate if your approach is feasible?
-The big goal of our project: Completing the translation of 183 research papers published by IOG into Vietnamese on schedule, thereby helping the Vietnamese Cardano community (especially developers) understand the knowledge gained in these research papers. We will create a knowledge library of technical documents for developers and members of the Cardano Vietnam community.
- We have some other quantitative goals as follows: After the end of milestone 1, there are 100 research paper visits and 50 research paper downloads. After the end of milestone 2, there are 200 visits and 100 downloads. After the end of milestone 3, there are 300 visits and 150 downloads. After the end of milestone 4, there are 400 visits and 200 downloads. We measure these metrics through the Google Analytics tool.
- If we achieve the above goals, we will notify the community through 2 Telegram groups (StakingADA-Fimi and Fimi - Development Team). In addition, we will also make monthly progress reports to send to Catalyst.
[CAPABILITY/ FEASIBILITY] Please provide a detailed breakdown of your project’s milestones and each of the main tasks or activities to reach the milestone plus the expected timeline for the delivery.

- As of July 12, 2023, there have been 183 research papers (corresponding to 5404 pages) published at <https://iohk.io/en/research/library>. We have translated 6 research papers (corresponding to 248 pages) into Vietnamese to send to the community: Hydra: Fast Isomorphic State Channels, Interhead Hydra: Two Heads Are Better Than One, Ouroboros Leios, Proof of Useful Work, Scripting smart contracts for distributed ledger technology, A Proposal for An Ethereum Classic Treasury System. We can not view research paper number 25. So the total remaining research paper that needs to be translated is 176, and the number of pages of documents to be translated is 5156.
- Our proposal will last for 12 months. Based on the Fund 10 schedule, We have 4 important Milestones as follows:
1. Milestone 1: From October 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023
- We will translate 47 research papers (details of 47 research papers to be translated can be found in the "Pending" sheet in this link).
- The total number of pages we will translate is 1277 pages.
- Total translation cost for Milestone 1 is: 1277 x 20 = 25,540 (ADA)

2. Milestone 2: From January 1, 2024 to March 31, 2024

- Total translation cost for Milestone 2 is: 1288 x 20 = 25,760 (ADA)

- The result of milestone 4 is: 53 research papers in Vietnamese posted on the cardano.vn website, 400 document visits (included data of Milestone 1, Milestone 2, and Milestone 3), and 200 document downloads (included data of Milestone 1, Milestone 2, and Milestone 3).

- Our project works as follows:
+ Step 1: Based on the list of research papers waiting for translation, the translator will select a research paper to translate.
+ Step 2: After the translator finishes translating the research paper, it will be reviewed by the reviewer. After it is reviewed, it will be posted on the cardano.vn website and 2 Telegram groups (StakingADA-Fimi and Fimi - Development Team).
+ Step 3: The project manager keeps track of translated and reviewed documents on the "Done & Unpaid" sheet in this link.
+ Step 4: The project manager summarizes data and pays the translator's reward and reviewer's reward.
Steps will continue to take place to complete on schedule.

-We will create translations as PDF files and post them on cardano.vn website. For example, here is a research paper published by IOG, and here is a research paper that we have translated into Vietnamese.
- Each milestone we will complete many such research papers in PDF format. In milestone 1 we will complete 47 research papers, milestone 2 is 38, milestone 3 is 38, and milestone 4 is 53.
- We monitor the project progress weekly through this link to ensure the completion of the set goals. Based on this link, we will track the work progress of the members, from which we can work together to achieve the goal.

-Translation cost: 20 ADA per page: Of which 16 ADA per page for the translator, 4 ADA per page for review and upload to the cardano.vn website.
- Project management cost: 800 ADA per month. We need project management costs because our project runs for 12 months and the project manager plays a very important role. The project manager takes time, knowledge, and experience. The project manager will ensure the project is implemented and managed effectively.

[RESOURCES & VALUE FOR MONEY] How does the cost of the project represent value for money for the Cardano ecosystem?
-Our project has only 3 types of costs: reward for the translator (16 ADA per page), reward for the reviewer (4 ADA per page), and project management cost (800 ADA per month). Through the process of experimentally translating 6 research papers (corresponding to 248 pages) into Vietnamese, we found this to be a reasonable cost of the project. Our project funding will all create benefits for the Cardano Vietnam community, especially for developers.
- We decide the budget of the project based on several factors:
+ This is an in-depth technical research paper on Blockchain, so we need staff with a lot of experience in translation and a good understanding of Blockchain.
+ We consulted the translation costs of a Haskell book translation proposal funded in Fund 8 (<https://cardano.ideascale.com/c/idea/62683>). This proposal was funded at a cost of 10 USD per page. Therefore, it is very reasonable for us to ask for a translation fee of 20 ADA per page.
+ We have built quality information channels over the years, which is a factor that helps us save marketing costs for the project.
+ In addition, we also consulted some people in the Cardano Vietnam community.
